Entrepreneur Determined to Help End the Isolation of Self Employment
Minneapolis, MN (PRWEB) May 1, 2007 -- In just 6 weeks inspired entrepreneurs in Denver, CO, will get the opportunity to meet other creative entrepreneurs who get what it's like to run a business with creativity and passion when Entertaining The Idea, LLC kicks off its first on-the-road version of its event series called Eat. Drink. Dream™: Food for the Soul of the Entrepreneur™.
The event is the creation of Minneapolis-based entrepreneur, Alice Barry who provides idea development and marketing and special event consulting for entrepreneurs. With encouragement and inspiration from her mentor, author, speaker and entrepreneur, Barbara Winter, Barry has embarked on a mission to build community for a new breed of business creators called Inspired Entrepreneurs -- people who are designing both a business and a life based on their interests and passions with the mission of achieving their dreams and making the world a better place.
"These are not stiff networking events where people feel forced to sell themselves and are scared to talk about their ideas," said founder and entrepreneur, Alice Barry. "Eat. Drink. Dream. is different. This event is designed to infuse the entrepreneurial journey with creativity and bring back the fun of working for yourself. We don't talk taxes, business plans or legal advice. Instead, we talk about ideas and dreams and discover ways to collaborate and be boldly creative with our businesses," said Barry. "The idea is to surround attendees with a group of peers they can both learn from and lean on."
The event is being made possible with the help of several Denver-based entrepreneurs who believe in Barry's mission and know that what she is offering is a key to their own success. Among them are Sally Evans, a jewelry and fine artist and creativity coach, who will be featured at the event, Maureen Thomson, wedding officiant and creator of Lyssabeth's Wedding Ceremonies and Dixie Darr, writer and teacher on creativity and innovation in business. All three local entrepreneurs will be in attendance.
Eat. Drink. Dream. will take place at the Lumber Baron Inn at 2555 W. 37th Ave. in Denver from 6:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. New, experienced and aspiring entrepreneurs are all welcome. The cost to attend is $49/person and advance registration is required to attend. There are also opportunities for attendees to feature, or launch their businesses, at the event for an additional fee. Finding Employment with a Criminal History
It is not easy to find employment if you happen to have a criminal history. Still, it can be done! You need patience and perseverance, and you should be aware that most of the businesses you approach in your search for a job will conduct a employment background search in order to check your background. A recent People Search News article reported that more than 80% of all business now performs comprehensive background checks on all potential employees, compared to less than half that number 10 years ago. Additionally, the size of the business does not necessarily determine if a pre-employment background check will be performed.
